This is the Privacy Policy of the www.smdi.com.np (and any successor or other domains that we operate) and all content, services and products, that we provide (collectively, the “Website” or “site”). The Website is owned and operated by Sagarmatha Management Development Institute Pvt. Ltd., Kathmandu, Nepal (together with our affiliates and subsidiaries, “SMDI”, “we”, “us”, “our” and terms of similar meaning). It describes the personal information that we collect from users of our Application as part of the normal operation of our site, and how we use and disclose this information. Capitalized terms used but not defined in this Privacy Policy have the meanings in our Terms of Service.

In this Privacy Policy, when we refer to “Users”, we mean our customers and clients who use our Services, and when we refer to “End Users” we mean the users, visitors and customers of our Users’ Portfolios.

This Privacy Policy describes what we do with personal information that we collect and use for our own purposes (i.e., where we are a controller), such as User Account information and information about how you use and interact with our Services, including information you submit to our customer support as well as certain information relating to our Users’ End Users.

By using our site, you accept our privacy policy. By accepting this Privacy Policy or by using our Services, you expressly consent to our collection, use and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

What personal data we collect

Our primary purpose in collecting personal information from you is to provide you with a safe, smooth, efficient, and customized experience. This allows us to provide services and features that most likely meet your needs, and to customize our service to make your experience safer and easier. We only collect personal information about you that we consider necessary for achieving this purpose.

In general, you can browse the website without telling us who you are or revealing any personal information about yourself. Once you become a User, we require you to provide various contact and identity information and other personal information as indicated on the relevant forms on the site, and you are no longer anonymous to us. Where possible, on these forms we indicate which fields are required and which fields are optional. In addition, as you use the site, you can from time to time enter or send to us personal information.

You always have the option to not provide information by choosing not to become a User or by not using the particular feature of the site for which the information is being collected.

We also automatically track certain information about you based upon your behaviour on our site. We use this information to do internal research on our users’ demographics, interests, and behaviour to better understand, protect and serve you and our community.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics, a service which transmits website traffic data to Google Servers in the United States. How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

You may delete your Account by contacting us at SMDI and we will delete the personal information, comments etc. it holds about you (unless we need to retain it for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy)

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

How we protect your data

SMDI strives to protect your personal information.
